Expert meeting "Evidence-based transfusion medicine"

 

The Superior Health Council invites you to the expert meeting "Evidence-based transfusion medicine". The event takes place on 19 April 2012.

 

 Specific goals of the meeting

  • Discuss the available evidence on transfusion medicine in the ICU setting
  • Inform participants on the nature and limitations of non-randomized and observational clinical trials on the RBC storage lesion
  • Discuss and look ahead to trials on the clinical impact of the RBC storage lesion
  • Inform participants on state-of-the-art practical approaches in the field of blood management (hospital based, peri-operative and non-surgical techniques)
  • Assess the efforts made towards determining the effectiveness of blood management initiatives
