Field testing of genetically modified poplars, begun in 2009, and the field testing of GMO maize, which started last year, are both to be continued this year. The relevant ministers and the State Secretary have given the go-ahead.
The Federal Public Service for Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment wishes to inform you of an application for a field trial with genetically modified poplars intended to evaluate their possible use as a raw material for renewable bio-based products and bio-energy. The public consultation on this trial will take place from 5 February to 7 March 2013 inclusive.
