Extension to GMO field tests with maize and poplars in 2013
Field testing of genetically modified poplars, begun in 2009, and the field testing of GMO maize, which started last year, are both to be continued this year. The relevant ministers and the State Secretary have given the go-ahead.

Public consultation: application for a field trial with genetically modified poplars
The Federal Public Service for Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment wishes to inform you of an application for a field trial with genetically modified poplars intended to evaluate their possible use as a raw material for renewable bio-based products and bio-energy. The public consultation on this trial will take place from 5 February to 7 March 2013 inclusive.

The Belgian Biosafety Advisory Council has submitted an opinion on the study by French professor Séralini into the possible negative long-term effects from consumption of the GMO corn NK603 from Monsanto. -
Public consultation: the use of a genetically modified medicine against heart failure in a clinical trial
The FPS Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment and the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products wish to inform you of a clinical trial with the genetically modified medicine MYDICAR® from the company Celladon, intended to combat heart failure. The public consultation on this trial will take place from 19 October to 18 November 2012 inclusive.
