In the context of the Belgian Presidency, the FPS Public Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment is organising the conference "Tomorrow's Chemicals Policy: Perspectives and Challenges". This event will be the opportunity to assess the progress of chemicals policy at European and global level, in the presence of experts, scientists, members of civil society and industry representatives. In view of the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability and the actions still pending, it is essential to take stock, to identify today's main challenges and tomorrow's opportunities in order to deliver a clear message to the future Commission.

The conference will last a day and a half and include a number of presentations on chemicals-related topics, interspersed with expert panels who will shed some light on the issues.

The first day will be devoted to the strategy for sustainability in the chemicals sector. For participants interested in continuing the discussions in a more informal setting, a cocktail reception will close this first part of the conference. As for the second day, the focus will be placed on chemicals policy at international level.

The conference will be held in English (no interpretation will be provided).
