Many instances of international governance have addressed the issue of the decline of domestic and wild bees and their potential consequences on human well-being.
The main instrument of international policy in this field is the Convention on Biological Diversity and its "International Initiative for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Pollinators". Other organisations have addressed this issue and are taking complementary initiatives. These include, inter alia, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
