A good quality of the indoor air is very important for a good health, certainly in times when we constantly build more airtight.

There are different causes of bad indoor air: open fires, pets, printers, air temperature and humidity, certain furniture, mildew on the walls, paints, cleaning agents, etc.

Also construction products can be a source of hazardous substances. This is why the Federal Public Service Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment endeavours to reduce the sources of hazardous substances as much as possible.

Floor covering

A Belgian Royal Decree (NL) ensures that less hazardous substances are released from floor covering products and from the adhesives used for these products. As from January 2015 products must comply with certain health related requirements.

During the following years, also wall covering and ceiling covering will be scrutinized.
