Civil aviation comprises 5 classes.  

Class 1










 

 

  • Air transport pilot for plane or helicopter
  • Commercial pilot for plane, helicopter or zeppelin
  • Multi-pilot
  • Flight engineer

 

The international titles are :

  • ATPL : Air Transport Pilot License
  • CPL : Commercial Pilot License
  • MPL : Multi-Pilot License
  • Flight engineer
Class 2









 

This includes pilots who can only carry out private flights (private pilot for plane, helicopter, sailplane, balloon or zeppelin).

The international titles are :

  • PPL (A) : Private Pilot License (Airplane)
  • PPL (H) : Private Pilot License (Helicopter)
  • PPL (As) : Private Pilot License (Airship)
  • SPL : Sailplane Pilot License
  • BPL : Balloon Pilot License
Class 3*

 

This includes the air traffic controllers.

Class 4







 

This is a national licence for:

  • Pilot of an ultra light motorized aircraft
  • Pilot paramotor

 The international titles are :

  • ULM : Ultra Light Motorized
  • DPM : Delta Plane Motorised
Class LAPL








 

This class comprises non-commercial pilots of light aircraft (limited weight and volume). These aircraft may transport a maximum of 3 passengers.

The international titles are :

  • LAPL (A) : Light Aircraft Pilot License (Airplane)
  • LAPL (H) : Light Aircraft Pilot License (Helicopter)
  • LAPL(S) : Light Aircraft Pilot License (Sailplane)
  • LAPL (B) : Light Aircraft Pilot License (Balloon)
  • Drone
Class 3 medical examinations are not conducted by FAM.
