Based on the advice of the Risk Assessment Group, the Risk Management Group (RMG) decides what measures are needed to protect public health. The RMG consists of representatives of health authorities and is chaired by the National Focal Point for the International Health Regulations.

If a crisis becomes serious, the RMG meets regularly to manage all health-related aspects of the crisis. If that crisis requires coordination between different sectors and administrations, a crisis cell is set up at the FPS Interior crisis centre.
