Whichever form of reimbursement you choose, the medical officer of your health insurance fund* can not refuse to grant you prior authorisation* if:
- the planned healthcare which you wish to receive abroad is reimbursed by the compulsory health insurance system, and
- an equivalent treatment can not be provided in Belgium within a medically justifiable period, given your state of health at the time and the expected future course of your condition.
