The marine environmental policy is a federal responsibility, but to give shape and implement the desired policy, consultation is needed both at international and national levels (with the Regions and other federal institutions).
• In order to prepare for the negotiations that take place in the international and European fora, discussions will take place in advance within the Coordinating Committee for International Environmental Policy (CCIM) between the Regions and the federal institutions.
• The Coastguard Structure is the platform to plan the activities at sea with the other regional and federal institutions.
• Information is exchanged within the Coordination Centre for Integrated Coastal Zone Management for the purpose of integrated coastal zone management.
• Finally there are a number of consultative structures to prepare the policy measures.
