PFAS and perchlorate in bottled water and water used for manufacturing foodstuffs


The Superior Health Council was asked to comment on the health impact of PFAS and perchlorate in bottled water and water used in the food industry. These chemicals are harmful to your health when exposed for long periods of time. In summary, the Council recommends the following values:

  General population Vulnerable groups
PFOA, PFOS, PFNA and PFHxS 4 ng/L  
Other PFAS 100 ng/L  
Perchlorate 13 µg/L 2 µg/L
